For my surface treatment on my additive texture, I decided to use water color. I wanted to give it the appearance of a rainbow fish since the additive texture looked like scales. I wanted a light and "airy" look to this bulky sculpture. Although I haven't completed it just yet.
I began thinking of what a freshman had told me when I asked if they could be any fish, what kind would they be. That inspired me to paint it with water colors. I would hope to convey emotions of light and "airy" feelings. Almost like swimming freely in the water. And show through that, that swimming downstream can be easy, but to swim upstream takes dedication and a champion.
Lastly, my piece started as a turtle shell to a riverbed with a stream and finally a rainbow fish. It all depends on how you take it into context. It can truly be anything.
